Recipes: Idli, Cheese sandwich and Dhokla

Recipes: Idli, Cheese sandwich, and Dhokla:  If you are bored with the food at home and you do not want to go out from the house then you can cook very good dishes at home. Today, I will tell you about 3 such dishes, that is  Idli, Dhokla and cheese sandwich. If you keep interest in cooking, read these articles.

Idli recipe:
1. Split black gram/urad dal (4 cups)
2. Rice (3 cups)
3. Salt (according to taste)
4. Baking soda ( 1.5 tsp)
5. Poha (optional 1 cup)

First, take urad dal and Poha, then wash with water and clean it. Now put these two things together and put one glass of water and keep it wet for 3-4 hours. Now wash the rice well and keep it wet for 2-3 hours. After 3-4 hours, dry out all the ingredients from water and drain it. Now grind urad dal and Poha, together and take the rice separately, then put both the ingredients in a big bowl and mix them well. Now add salt and baking soda in it and cover the bowl, then leave it for overnight for the growth of yeast. After that next morning, mix that mixture again and if the mixture looks a little bit thick then get some water in it and mix it. Now add some oil in the Idli machine and then put paste or mixture in it carefully. Now add 3 cups of water in idli utensil and cover it, then put it on the high flame gas for 10-12 minutes, after that low the flame of gas and remove the cover. Then check whether idli has been cooked or not. If idle blows upwards, then understand that idli has been cooked and with the help of a knife or spoon you take out idle. If Idli sticks in a knife or spoon, keep it covered again and leave it for 4-5. Now our idli is ready you can serve it with green chutney, coconut chutney or sambhar.

2. Cheese sandwich:
Ingredients :
1. Brown bread
2. Capsicum (1)
3. Onion (2)
4. Tomato (1)
5. Chat masala (1 tsp)
6. Boiled potato (3)
7. Black pepper ( half tsp.)
8. Spread cheese
9. Butter/ghee
10. Salt (according to taste)

First wash all the vegetables thoroughly and chop them finely, now mash the boil potatoes in a big bowl and add tomato, onion, and capsicum then mixes it well. Now add black pepper, salt, and chat masala, mix it well.
After that take a single piece of bread and spread the cheese all over on it, now take a paste and spread on the bread with the help of a spoon and again spread cheese on another bread and cover the first bread and press it with palm. Now keep the pan on the gas and after heating it stew/roast the sandwich with butter or ghee. Garnish the cheese sandwich with white sesame (till) or Aalu Bhujiya. Now cheese sandwich is ready, serve with tomato sauce.

3. Dhokla:
1. Gram flour/besan (2 cups)
2. Salt (according to taste)
3. Curd (1 cup)
4. Turmeric powder (1 tsp)
5. Oil
6. Ginger (1 inch.)
7. Plane ENO powder (1small packet)
8. Raw mustard (1 tsp.)
9. Green chilli
9. Sugar ( 2 tsp.)
10. Curry leaves (10-12)
11. Water


To make Dhokla first, mix gram flour and curd in a bowl and keep it covered for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, add turmeric powder, salt, grated ginger, 1 spoon of oil, salt, plane ENO powder, and water, mix it well. Leave this paste for 5-10 minutes. Now take a deep vessel and put oil in it well, then put the prepared paste in that utensil. On the other hand, take a cooker, put half the water in it. Now put a small utensil in the cooker.
Now put the prepared paste utensil on top of the small utensil and close the cooker ( remove the whistle of the cooker). Now turn on the gas and put the cooker on it. Leave it for 30-35 on high flame. Now close the gas and take the dhokla on the plate with the help of a knife.
Preparation of Tadka:
First, take a frying pan and put it on the gas. Now add oil in it. After the oil is heated, add raw mustard, curry leaves, green chili, sugar and water in it. Cook for 5 minutes and then turn off the gas. Now spread this Tadka on the top of dhokla. Now dhokla is ready to serve.
